Soccer Stadium Campaign

Cost: $17,500,000

Seating: 5,300

Training Center: 15,500 square feet

Press/Suite Area: 1,450 square feet

Project Overview

The Dr. Mark & Cindy Lynn Stadium will be a state-of-the- art $17.5 million facility that will serve as home for both our Men's and Women's Soccer programs. The location of the stadium will make it one of the most visible landmarks on the University of Louisville campus, as it is prominently located parallel with Interstate 65. Additionally, it will be centrally located between two of the University's cornerstone buildings, the Swain Student Activities Center and Papa John's Cardinal Stadium.

The facility will have seating capacity for over 5,300 fans and will feature a 15,500 square foot training center, which will include identical locker rooms for each team, coaches' offices and a sports medicine training room. The Dr. Mark & Cindy Lynn Soccer Stadium is the second largest facility project that the athletic department has undertaken, behind only the construction of Papa John's Cardinal Stadium.

Team Overviews

The 2012 season saw the Men's team claim its third BIG EAST Red Division Title and enter the NCAA Tournament as the #10 seed nationally. The Cards reached the NCAA Quarterfinals, finishing with a record of 14-6-1. Five Cardinals were selected to the All-Region team, and three players were selected in the MLS Super Draft, including the #1 overall selection, All-American defender Andrew Farrell.

The Women's team followed up on its 2011 BIG EAST Conference Championship by finishing 2012 with a record of 10-4-4. 2012 BIG EAST Midfielder of the Year Charlyn Corral led four Cardinals on the All-BIG EAST team, the second-highest total in program history. Off the field, leading goal scorer Angelika Uremovich was crowned as the 2012 University of Louisville Homecoming Queen.
